QRP Fun with RN6LHF
In preparation for the SunSDR2 QRP release, meet Vasily RN6LHF Senior Hardware Designer at Expert Electronics as he brings the new SunSDR2 QRP out in the field. You can also enjoy outdoor HF activities this summer with the new SunSDR2 QRP. Get inspired by Vasily in this video!

The SunSDR2 QRP is a light and small SDR, Software Defined Radio transceiver. It covers HF and 6 meter with a transmit power of 5 watt and a general coverage direct conversion (DDC) receiver. This small SDR transceiver is based on the proven SunSDR2 PRO transceiver, the creation of RN6LHF and his skilled team at Expert Electronics. It is a high performance SDR transceiver in a QRP package. Here are some of its highlights:

  • HF to 6 meter general coverage receiver (DDC)
  • 16 bit low power ADC
  • Dual receivers, each with SUB RX (4 slices)
  • 5 Watt transmit on all ham bands
  • Yaesu MH-31 compatible input
  • Headset in/output (ModMic, electret mic, etc.)
  • PTT footswitch input
  • CW-keyer input
  • PTT out for amp control
  • Reverse polarity protection
  • Remote Control via Internet or local WiFi using RPI

Your SunSDR2 QRP can be remotely controlled via internet using our RPI server. Access your transceiver from anywhere using the remote control application on a PC or use the web application from a browser on a PC or portable IOS or Android device.
For that IOTA, SOTA or any other operation in the field, connect your SunSDR2 QRP to the RPI server, then connect with your PC, tablet or phone wirelessly via WiFi to the RPI server. This way you can place your transceiver together with the antenna on the beach or in a high position while operating from a comfortable leeward location nearby. For longer distances plug a 4G modem into the RPI server and connect where from anywhere else.
Some features mentioned in this article might not be available the product launch, but are planned upgrades free of charge to SunSDR2 QRP owners.
